has been caused by a leak in the roof of the museum, the stops (levers) that control the ranks of pipes have ceased up where the rain water has warped the wood. Volunteers spent hours on the discovery of the damage erecting a large tarpaulin over the top of the organ to prevent further damage. The leak has been repaired, but the damage is not covered under the University of the West of England's insurance policy covering the building, as it is not part of the fabric of the building. The future of the organ, maintained regularly and built in 1881 by H. G. Vowles of Bristol is uncertain, as the museum does not have the means to pay for the repairs. A recent quote for the complete repair and re-tuning of the organ was received, a grand sum of £4,500.
