Closure of the museum ...

The Museum was forced to close due to unsafe wiring constructed from fraying vanadium rubber, this meant the building was unsafe. The entire collections have been removed from the building to a safe storage location whilst the repair works are carried out.

During the same period lead was stolen from the roof of the museum. The roof  has now been repaired with a substitute of no resale value to prevent re-occurrence.

Whilst the building was unattended we also suffered a break-in, and leaks in the roof causing thousands of pounds worth of damage to our once fully working organ.

The Museum is now open for the month of June 2009, with a selection of objects from the collection on display whilst the works are carried out to the rest of the collection. We will keep you updated as to when the museum will be open.
